A lifelong passion for transforming spaces.
Hi, Iām Abbie
Studio Kovari was born from a lifelong love of architecture, interiors and the endless possibilities of what a space can become.
For as long as I can remember, I've looked at spaces and imagined how they could be transformed. As a teenager, I would walk through neighbourhoods with my mum, looking at houses and daydreaming about what I would change, improve or reimagine. It was something that came naturally to me, long before I ever considered interior design as a career.
What started with helping family and friends with their interiors and renovations gradually evolved into something much bigger. I began buying, renovating and selling properties in Australia, worked as a property stylist for a home staging company, and eventually started taking on my own clients through word of mouth. Along the way, I decided to turn years of practical experience and a natural eye for design into a profession, completing formal studies in interior design.
More than just an eye for design.
Growing up with a father who worked in the trades, I was always curious about how things were built and how everything came together. That curiosity stayed with me and became an important part of my approach to design.
Through years of property renovations, I've developed a genuine interest in the construction process, from understanding materials and finishes to knowing how each stage of a project impacts the next. I've been actively involved in managing renovations and coordinating contractors across both Australia and Dubai, giving me practical experience that goes well beyond choosing colours, furniture and finishes.
Property transformation is still something I'm incredibly passionate about, and you'll usually find me with a renovation project of my own happening in the background. There's something so rewarding about seeing the potential in a tired or outdated property, bringing it back to life and handing it over to someone who can make it their home.
The Studio Kovari Approach
I believe there's an art to finding the perfect balance between beautiful design and everyday living. A space should not only look good, but feel good to live in.
As a mum of two boys and an animal lover, I understand that a home needs to work for real life. I don't believe homes should feel like display houses, where everything looks perfect but nothing feels lived in. Equally, a home shouldn't feel cluttered, bare or sterile. It's about finding that sweet spot between form and function, with just the right amount of personality, warmth and cohesion.
My approach is to help clients discover what that balance looks like for them. I take the time to understand how they live, what they love and what they need from their space, bringing it all together in a way that feels natural, considered and uniquely theirs.
With years of hands-on renovation experience and an understanding of construction, I also bring a practical perspective to the creative process. I consider not just how a space will look, but how it will function, how it will come together and how the design can be achieved.
At Studio Kovari, my goal is simple: to create beautiful, functional spaces with personality. Homes that feel thoughtfully designed, but never too precious to be lived in.
